Stuffed in a Phone Box

STUFFED - a joint exhibition featuring Rachel Sheldrake and myself is now open at the K6 Gallery in Southampton. The gallery consists of two disused K6 model telephone boxes, located on the old city walls area, near the water front.

In the exhibition we each occupy our own telephone box, and use knitting in our work to play with typical gender stereotypes based around the domesticity of craft. Although the scale and size is very different - our work compliments each other well. Rachel’s monumental knitting pieces fill the telephone box space and create a claustrophobic feel, while my knitted creations swim around the space like a tank, and peer-out at the viewer.

The show is open 24-7 from now until the 8th of September.
